OPENING
SESSION OF PENSA GHANA CONFERENCE'15
(Thursday, 8th
January, 2015. Evening session)
The Pensa conference 2015 has begun in a grand style at the 5000
seater Egyiri Painstsil auditorium of the Pentecost Convention Center. The Area Head for Kasoa, Apostle Samuel Antwi delivered a welcome
address to officially welcome all participants to this year's conference.
Later, the Youth Director of the Church of Pentecost, Ps David Nyansah Hayfron delivered an address
on behalf of the National Youth Executives. He touched on the theme for this
year's conference, "OCCUPY TILL I COME". The National Pensa
Coordinator, Elder Michael Laryea Jnr
also took turn to welcome participants on behalf of the National Central and
Coordinating Team. He encouraged all members to be focused and get involved in
everything that takes place.
The Center Manager, Ps Nana Yaw Adjei and his deputy adviced
participants on how to use the facilities at the Center.
Apostle Ousman Zabre, the Special guest speaker for the Tertiary
division delivered the opening sermon. He made exposition on what it means to
occupy. He explained that, a Steward is one who takes care of people's
property. He emphasized that believers have been made stewards of God, because
God has placed high confidence in them. He also stated that, stewards merit the
confidence of their masters. Good Stewards always serve the purposes of their
masters. He noted that God has placed in all believers’ special abilities of
productivity. Thus, God expert his followers to bear fruits because all shall
give an account of everything entrusted into them. "Talents are natural
gifts that God gives to his people. The talents in this chapter is not limited
to money but goods and properties", he stated.
He further elaborated on some Types of Talents
1. The Revelational knowledge of God. Knowing God through personal
Knowing God has a transforming event in ones spirituality and morality. This is
imperative for Godliness and Christian service. Jn:17:3 Gal 4:8-9, Dan 11:32,
Eph 1:17, Col 2:2
2. Spiritual, Grace and Ministerial gifts.1 Corinthians 7:7, 2
Corinthians 1:11
3. The knowledge of the Kingdom of God. Matt 12:28. This carries
the idea of God coming into the world to express his divining power over demons
and principalities and therefore expecting His followers to take advantage of
it. It is the responsibility of all believers to seek unceasingly the power and
authority of God in all ways if we want to occupy. Matt 11:12
PEOPLE WHO WILLING TO OCCUPY
1.People who are willing to breakaway from their sinful practices
of this world like Joseph no matter
how it will cost them are ready to occupy. Joseph was full of God
because he was faithful, compassionate, God-fearing and forgiving Gen 38:9.
2. The kingdom of God is for people who can speak the truth boldly
in times of hardship like Nathan who
spoke the truth in the face of King David without any fear or favor.
3. The Kingdom is for people like Daniel and the three Hebrews ( Shadrack, Meshack and
Abednego) who will never compromise to the things of the world. Dan 1:8, 3
4. The Kingdom of God is for people who will choose to obey God
rather than men like Peter and John
He also used other biblical characters like Stephen, Deborah, Ruth and Lydia who showed high level of commitment
in their walk and services to God. To occupy is to show high level of
commitment in our service to God.
