Masturbation is a common lifestyle but does not make it right. It is one way of becoming sexually satisfied without mostly affecting another person, so most people think it is safe. The illusion of individualism and the emphasis it places on personal choice is that our sexual choices occur in isolation. It assumes that "my" history of sexual experience or inexperience is a purely personal and individual thing. It is not and cannot be. Even what I do and think on my own is habit-forming,character building and comes to affect others. What others do affect me; and not only what they do but how they interpret what they do powerfully conditions my own thinking and practice.
Whatever one does affects the other. We live in a community not in isolation. When a person uses the wrong car which has bad emissions it affects the hundreds onlookers and passersby because man by nature is gregarious or communal.
Masturbation has been explained to refer to the sexual stimulation of a person's genitals, usually to the point of orgasm. It is seem to be "self sex" that is engaging in sexual intercourse with your own self and thus not affecting anyone. But is that actually the case, we shall discover the answer later in the article.
