TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
SATURDAY 14TH FEBRUARY, 2015 @ UEW – WINNEBA CAMPUS

Few weeks after the PENSA SHS Leaders conference, Pastor Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo- Travelling Secretary(Central sector) organized another powerful leadership seminar for all PENSA leaders in the sector. The conference which was hosted by the PENSA-UEW Branch started at exactly 10am at the PENSA-UEW Auditorium with about six schools in attendance including the University of Cape Coast, University of Education, Winneba and Adjumako campuses, Cape Coast Polytechnic, Cape Coast Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Twifo Praso Nursing and Midwifery Training College the Ola College of Education. Pastor Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo, Mrs Agartha Agyei Kwafo (Travelling Secretary and wife), Elder Henaku  (Financial Secretary- PENSA Central Sector working committee) , Elder Boadu ( Schools coordinator-Swedru Area) and the former PENSA-UEW president were also there to grace the occasion.

Sofomaame Agartha Agyei Kwafo was there to support and grace the occasion.

The travelling secretary opened the ceremony by announcing to the participants the purpose of the gathering as it aimed at equipping the leaders of PENSA to work effectively for the glorification of God.  The participants were later grouped into six different groups and each group was assigned to a task to work on. After few minutes all the groups presented their marvelous work to the congregation and the leaders also attended to various questions asked.
After their presentations, Elder Henaku mounted the platform to give a talk on FINANCE ADMINISTRATION IN PENSA. He started by explaining the framework of finance administration, the essence of the pre-audit team and the institutional finance and internal audit team and how to maintain proper bookkeeping of PENSA at all levels. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful -KJV (1 Corinthians 4:2)
In his presentation he said the underlining issue that runs through finance administration is PRUDENCE AND ACCOUNTABILITY, which should be the hallmark of all PENSA leaders.
Pastor Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo also gave a presentation on Pastoral Care in PENSA, he said Pastoral care is a critical ministry within student communities and it is giving holistic support to students who are going through various challenges that directly or indirectly affect their academic and or spiritual life. These challenges he said may be broken relationships, poor grades, low self esteem, intimidations from lecturers and peers, health challenges etc.
He added that pastoral care is needed because in a group there would always be people who have challenges; physiological, spiritual, academic, emotional etc. and no man is completely independent and emotionally stable. Everybody needs everyone (Matthew 26:36-46), those who do not receive Pastoral Care may not enjoy the assembly of the Saints and moreover those who do not get help may seek it from outside the Church, which may negatively affect the body of Christ.
He concluded by saying, Pastoral care is an important aspect of the Christian community that cannot be neglected. The Church lose members mostly because of simple unresolved issues and needs that are either not known or adequately dealt with. Pastoral Care when taken seriously will help us win back most backsliders, maintain our members and even win many more souls into the fold. It can be an effective tool for evangelism.
