PENSA UCC, the PENSA patron and the coordinators of Aggrey Memorial PENSA
Branch from the University of Cape Coast.
The travelling secretary Pastor Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo of the
central sector presented a message entitled “BE A GOOD SOLDIER” at the
ceremony.
Share in suffering as
a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits,
since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him. An athlete is not crowned
unless he competes according to the rules. It is the hard- working farmer who
ought to have the first share of the crops. Think over what I say, for the Lord
will give you understanding in everything (II Timothy 2:4-7)
He started by saying anyone recruited as a soldier obeys the
instructions of the one who recruits him/her because they want to please their
master and therefore as Christians we should live a lifestyle with the sole aim
of pleasing our maker who has recruited us to work as stewards in his royal
vineyard and should never be entangled the evils of the world.
He added by advising the incoming executives to lead to
please Christ who recruited them into the various positions by obeying the
instructions of the Bible and work according to the rules assigned them.
Moreover they should be aware that they are working for
Jesus Christ who is the only way the truth and the life and by obeying His
commandments, knowing him and making him known they will succeed as leaders.
He said the leaders should be physical leaders who will
excel in their studies and also as spiritual leaders focusing on Christ by
worshipping him in spirit and in truth.
In conclusion, he admonished the leaders to fight a good
fight to please Christ who recruited them and a prayer was also said for the
students and the school.
