RATHER GLORIOUS, NOT DISGRACEFUL.
Apostle Paul began it this way, ' I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. For it is the power of God unto salvation, to those who believe. The jew first then also the gentile.' Rom 1:16.
Have you ever felt shy holding your bible while you were on your way to church? It sounds like a funny stuff but let's get in. Some people fold it into their armpits to prevent people from seeing it. The real question is, did you buy that bag for your bible because you do not want people to see you holding it? Even to talk about it, have you ever deceived people of going somewhere else meanwhile you were going to church because you were ashamed of that? The whole thing is, being ashamed of the things that are God related. Another aspect is preaching the gospel of Christ. Some people do not do it not because they do not know the word of truth. They do not do it because they are ashamed. Should it be so? Do not forget, those who are shamed in these things will meet a negative response from the Lord on His day. Mark 8:38.
You see, the world has reached a time where an individual will feel more comfortable and not ashamed to walk on the street naked than telling somebody, 'Jesus is Lord.' God have mercy on us. It is glorious to be found in the things of God rather than evil. Still on Moses.
(NIV) Heb 11:26 He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward.
You see, Moses had seen that which others had not seen in the redeeming power of God. It is good we also see this in our day. This power made whole in Christ, was what Moses saw. He knew of the one to come as the anointed Saviour. He saw the restoration of Israel's belonging to her. He wanted to have a share in that inheritance.
The fact remains that the world is gradually moving into destruction. You see, it is like wheeling something into fire. At the end of the day, anything and everything clinging to it will be destroyed with it. Are you clinging to the world dear one? What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul. In other words, what shall a man give in exchange for his own soul?
Today, we talk about the way of life to the heart of man. It is still in your reach oh son of man. At a time to come, it will be out of reach. The world does not have even enough for itself. Stop clinging to it. It only leads to eternal destruction in Hell. Peace.
