MESSAGE ON HOMOSEXUALITY
On the 8th March, 2015,the travelling secretary of PENSA Central sector Pastor Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo visited the PENSA Members of Saltpond Methodist SHS Branch to worship with them. This meeting was accompanied by the wife of the travelling secretary Sofomaame Agartha Agyei Kwafo and sister Eunice Nketsia of PENSA UCC. In a short message on homosexuality he advised the students to desist from such an evil act as its against the doctrines of Christianity and such persons would not inherit the kingdom of God. He said homosexuality is real in the world of which Ghana is of no exception. He cautioned the students to be mindful with the kind of colleagues they associate with and also study vey hard for the glorification of God.

INTRODUCTION
There may be people
in many communities in Ghana and other parts of Africa who may be practicing
homosexuality. They could be found in schools, churches and in other religious
or social congregations. Some time past
in Ghana they were seriously frowned at, and though they are not fully accepted
now most homosexuals are using several strategies to win public sympathy. They
continue to win the hearts of our young ones and lure many into the habit. They
have adopted the “silence system” of homosexual evangelism where
they get the youth through the internet or personal contacts through a well
structured network. They get their
followers during football matches, holiday relaxation at beaches and tourist
centers and many more. Others are also using the “open system” of
homosexual persuasion through media publications, debates, international
pressure, preaching of false doctrine, influence through money and academic
deception. It is not easy to identify a homosexual, but they are common. Don’t
trust anyone with your sexuality even those of the same sex.
We need not stoop low for anyone or anything that
exalts itself against the Word of God. I employ all believers in the world and
those who call on Jesus as Lord and saviour never to accept the deception that
homosexuality is right. We must place the authority of scripture above human
deceptive persuasions and permissiveness.
The West with their wealth, advancement and power should not be allowed
to steal us of our cherished respect for God and common sense. At least nature
teaches us a moral sense that is demonstrated by most animals – that, a male
engages in sex with a female. This is a lesson we can lean from mammals like
cattle. No matter what
advocates of homosexuality do and say, Christ is our standard.
WHAT IS
HOMOSEXUALITY
When people of two
sexes (male and male; female and female) are sexually attracted to each other
or are involved in romantic behavior it is called homosexuality.
It is when people of the same sex engage and derive sexual pleasure from each
other. These romantic sexual behaviors between the two same sexes may include, kissing,
holding erogenous regions of each other, holding and
playing with each other’s sexual organs or using objects on each
other to reach orgasm. Such sexual pleasures could be exchanged on
phones or internet apart from personal contact. In most of the male homosexuals
one partner inserts the penis into the anus of the other partner. Males who are homosexuals are termed gays
and women involved in homosexuality are described as lesbians.
Among gays in Ghana
there are “gay girls” also called takers and “gay boys” called “forkers”.
The same applies to lesbians. The takers
play the role of female whilst forkers play the role of males in homosexual
relationship especially during sexual acts.
HOW TO
IDENTIFY A HOMOSEXUAL?
It would be difficult to tell who is a homosexual unless the person
confesses. It will also be wrong to call someone a gay or lesbian if you do not
have convincing evidence to prove. However, there are some characters that
associate some homosexuals which can help us predict the likelihood of an
individual being a gay or lesbian. Most homosexuals may exhibit one or some of
these characteristics listed below:
} They dress to look odd and funny, have
a stylish hairstyle, and wear dresses that stick too close to their bodies
} “Takers” usually behave like ladies,
paint their fingers, wear ladies pants, use many wrist bands, funny necklaces
and show unnecessary admiration to their fellow men.
} They are “same sex” party and fun lovers.
Gays would organize and attend parties that are meant for only males and
lesbians enjoy parties that are meant for only females.
} They use money, positions, gifts, and
many more to win people.
} They talk so much about the looks of
people of the same sex and appreciate them
unnecessarily and make sexy remarks about them.
} Homosexuals
may give you unnecessary attention and may always speak in favor of gays and
lesbians though they may not sound to be one.
} They are liberal on issues of morality
and are very sympathetic and show passion for homosexuals
} When they draw close to you they show
hatred or dislike for the opposite sex and play jealous on those of same sex
who get close.

(COLOURS
& SYMBOLS): some colours, symbols, philosophies and assertions should make
us aware that we may be dealing with homosexuals or their advocates.
(Mock
God): They mock God and His word and try to twist the Bible to suit their evil
practices. They may win the sympathy of people but they cannot change the position
of the unchangeable
God on this subject.
WHAT IS MAKING HOMOSEXUALS POWERFUL?
They have support from the international community who
are spreading and teaching this evil behind the veil of human rights. There are
researchers who are heavily sponsored to carry out research and draw false
conclusions on the subject just to make it less harmful and attractive to
people. Most powerful politicians, business men, academicians and some false
pastors are involved.
Homosexuals and their preachers try to use their
wealth and influence to make the practice popular and acceptable, and less evil
or no evil at all. The false doctrine of homosexuality is being taught as good
on the internet and in some schools through the agents. Children,
especially in the West are been taught to see it as normal. I would plead with
Churches all over the world to include the subject of homosexuality in the
syllabi of children and the youth so that they grow with the understanding that
the practice is evil.
Religious groups in Africa and Ghana and other civil
rights activists who think the way the Bible does and know that homosexuality
is not only evil but harmful to society should push for its inclusion in the
curricula of our schools.
Supporters and practitioners make the practice popular
and acceptable through the organization
of conferences, seminars and campaigns. They project it to look less harmful
and a growing norm in society. They parade on streets to display their pride in
these shameful acts.
WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS
God Almighty has ever
hated homosexuality and the Bible has spoken against it severally. It is
however true that some Christian groups especially in the USA and Europe have
accepted and even allow same sex marriages in their churches. This however does
not change what the Bible has said.
Paul in admonishing
us warned us of false prophets who would want to change the grace of God as
license for sin and about such he said, in Galatians 1:9 “As we said
before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than
that ye have received, let him be accursed” (KJV). The Bible admonishes us to despise those who
despise God and His word. We must not honor anyone including political
authorities who treat the Word of God as trash. Psalms 15: 4 declares “ who
despises the one rejected by the LORD, but honors those who fear the LORD, who
keeps his word whatever the cost” (Apologetics Study Bible).
This is how the Bible
sees homosexuality:
— It is wicked, good for nothing and
destructive. It can dash one’s life into pieces and cause a man’s soul to
forever perish in hell. Genesis 19:5-7 “They called out to Lot and
asked, “Where are the men who came to stay with you tonight? Bring them out to
us!” The men of Sodom wanted to have sex with them. Lot went outside and closed
the door behind him. He said to them, “Friends, I beg you, don’t do such a
wicked thing! (GNT)
— It is an abomination to God and
society; and disgusting. Leviticus 18:22-23 “No man is to have
sexual relations with another man; God hates that. No man or woman is to have
sexual relations with an animal; that perversion makes you ritually unclean.
(GNT)
— Leviticus 20:13 “If a man has
sexual relations with another man, they have done a disgusting thing, and both
shall be put to death. They are responsible for their own death” (GNT)
— It is foolish, shameful and evil. Judges
19:22-23 “While they were enjoying themselves, a
crowd of troublemakers from the town surrounded the house. They began beating
at the door and shouting to the old man, “Bring out the man who is staying with
you so we can have sex with him.”23 The old man stepped outside to talk to
them. “No, my brothers, don’t do such an evil thing. For this man is a guest in
my house, and such a thing would be shameful. (NLT)
— An act that will expel someone from the
company and congregation of God’s people.2 Kings 23:7
— It
is a disgraceful act that places people below the level of beast. It is a reward for continually ignoring
the rule of God and the authority of Christ. Romans 1:24-27
— An unacceptable lifestyle in the sight
of God and all those who practice it cannot and will not inherit the kingdom of
God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, 1 Timothy 1:9-10
HEALTH RISK OF
HOMOSEXUALITY

for their impact on health and wellbeing... When something is harmful, such as
smoking, overeating, alcohol, or drug abuse, and homosexual sex, it is my duty
to discourage it”
Research has shown that:
v Gays and
lesbians are more promiscuous than heterosexuals and have high risk of
HIV/AIDS, Syphilis and other STD’S
v Research in
1978 showed that (it is re-curring) during their life time:
- 75% of
white gays slept with over 100 people
- 15% slept
with between 500 to 999
- 28% with
more than 1,000
In another study:
- 93% of
lebians have had sex with men.
- Lesbians
are 4.5 times likely to have more than 50 male partners in their lifetime
than heterosexuals.
PHYSICAL HEALTH: Gays and Lesbians
have high risk of sleeping with HIV patients than heterosexuals
MENTAL HEALTH: they have high risk
of psychiatric illness such as depression, drug abuse and suicide attempts
LIFE SPAN: they lose up to 20 years of life
expectancy
I WANT TO ASK, CAN WE
FIND HOMOSEXUALS:

— In our schools today????????????????
— In our communities today??????????????
CONCLUSION
Gays are real in our
communities and are winning some youth. However, Africa and the Church must not
give up because we can win the battle against homosexuality in Africa. God
hates all homosexual practices but loves them and would want all of them to come
to repentance. The Power of God is the only way by which gays and lesbians
could be saved. If you are a homosexual open up for help and you would be
delivered. My advice to all is this, “Watch out so that no one sways you off
the way. “
